Kansas City, Kansas

Kansas City, Kansas, is the third largest city in the state. The city itself dates back to the 1800’s and was officially incorporated in October of 1972. Kansas City is on the border of Missouri and Kansas and at the confluence of the Missouri and Kansas River. This was one of the first battlefields in the civil war. The first city election was held in 1982. According to the 2000 census, the estimated population of the city was more than 146,000 residents.
There are many things to do and see in the Kansas City area. There is the American Jazz Museum, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Union Station, Science City, National World War I Museum, Liberty Memorial, the Nelson- Atkins Museum of Art, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Swope Park Zoo, Ward Parkway, and the Harley-Davidson Final Assembly Plant.
